Joburg North Cohort

The group for the Joburg North Cohort convened in and around coffee shops with the occasional sprinkle of beer as we have conversations and figure out what extending God's Kingdom looks like in our postal society. Meeting spots: Europa in Linden; Melville, people's homes...

Stepping out.

It looks like it's been a while since anything has happened here. I'm stepping out and stepping up.

Something that is missing with the emergingent conversation is co-operation. Simply put, emergingents are disconnected. Each fighting our own battles by themselves. Iron sharpens iron, and it seems like we're getting a bit dull. Agreed, thank you.

This blog is a small oasis for us. But is that enough? Not for me. I'd like more. I like to connect with people, thrash out ideas in conversation. Here the sound of laughter, watch a person's face as grapple with ideas, taste the beer*as we converse about getting in touch with poverty, or how Muse will rock the Coca Cola festival.

I think we can all do with some real connections.

Get together in Joburg

It's about time I organised a meetup in Joburg - a "Hi, pleased to meet you, you don't look anything like your online picture and you sound fairly normal in person, pity about the hair," type thing. And also to meet others who might be thinking and doing the same things you are.

So how about Friday, November 16 around 6pm? We can either do it at a coffee shop or at someone's house (someone volunteered earlier but I can't remember who...). Just an informal gathering and good conversation.

Venue suggestions:
Europa in Linden (although it's pretty busy that time...I'd have to book a table)
[Insert your name here]'s house

Let me know who's keen and if that date and time suits, and we'll go from there :)
