As many of you know, I’ve been writing a book on gender and Christianity for the last few years. Having read too many academic books written by foreigners, I’d really love it if some of you could take the time to answer some questions on my new blog to give me more of a first-hand perspective.
I'm looking for comments on:
1. When did you become aware that men and women were treated differently within society? What was your response?
2. When did you become aware that men and women were treated differently within the church? What was your response?
3. Has your view on gender changed over the years? Why and how?
4. Do you relate to God primarily as male or female? Are you comfortable relating to God as a woman? How has God’s gender impacted on your relationship with God or lack thereof?
5. Would you rather be male or female? Why?
6. If you believe men should lead relationships, is your view based primarily on
a. Religious beliefs
b. Family tradition
c. Reason
d. Experience
e. Other
7. How has your gender impacted on your relationships?
8. How has your gender impacted on your work?
9.How has your gender impacted on your role within your faith community?
10. Is Christianity sexist?
If you're interested, go to http://ischristianitysexist.blogspot.com/ and start the conversation. All perspectives and genders appreciated.

Is Christianity sexist?
"Is Christianity sexist?"
The answer is as obvious as the answer to
"Is the pope a paedophile-enabler?"
It's that straightforward?
Pete - you make it sound so simple!
In what ways do you think one inspired by the teaching of Christ might contribute to gender justice?
Is Christianity Sexist?
