I tune in here every few days. It's been quiet recently, apart from the cherubim "EXqCFpzPqHZp" and the seraphim "vqtQxmZcwABqspGz" but there are a few new names coming up and the curator in me can't help but wonder what's happening.
For all those who are trying to connect, looking for a new approach to spirituality, especially in South Africa, don't give up hope, just because a website appears stagnant. There IS a new thing happening, I am convinced of it. You may feel heretical, you may feel isolated, but lets use the tool given us - the internet - to connect "offline" (by which I mean "online", just so we are all equally confused) while we seek out community in our locales.
I address not only lurkers, newbies and extraterrestrial beings, but all of us to say, how is everyone doing, especially "online" (by which I mean "offline"), that is in the flesh, locally, and face to face?
What are your stories of seeking, or seeking and finding, translating the newness stirred up by the various forms of the emerging conversation?

conversaton unplugged
I'm all for conversation unplugged but also believe that online conversations are extremely helpful. Is this just the pre-year abyss or has the heretical element in emergent thinking made some jump to other conversational ships?

to tweak on of Martin Zender's propositions, maybe the bible serves as a kinda rorschach blot onto which we project our hearts.
if u believe that homosexuals should pay the ultimate price, along with all other "sinners" - i.e. he!! - then you will find biblical support. alternatively, if your heart is attuned to the final restoration of A!! things, then you too will find biblical support for your position.
if you wonder about extra-terrestrials having sex with earth women, then the first 6 books of genesis should intrigue you.
do you think everyone must be "born again" to enter the glory? then consider Christ's words to the jewish teacher, where He states that loving G-d and neighbour is enough.
were Adam and Eve the first humans on earth and the only bloodline? then why did G-d tell them to re-plenish the earth?
i suggest that were Jesus/Yeshuah to walk the planet today, he would wind up either dead or in guantanamo bay pronto.
is George Bush emergent?

You seem to be addressing the question of "biblical inerrancy/infalibility" from outside the circles of conventional belief, challenging the idea that "my/our interpretation is right" that many religious people seem to hold (a view and feeling with which I am familiar).
I think however that your questions are interesting and valid, but it'll probably take some accomplished thinkers/ students of scripture, history, philosophy and archeology to address; for most people it is all too easy to demonise such a viewpoint, partly because it lies beyond the reach of standard "churched" culture.
Tell us more about your suspicions concerning Jesus and Gwanda-namo Bay.
And I'd love to hear some other opinions on them (regardless of what side of the argument you take).
Does the bible merely reflect back to us our already held beliefs/fears/hopes, or can it be held to be objectively true?
