Brian was in Australia before coming here and they've [posted | http://www.abc.net.au/sundaynights/stories/s1582978.htm] an interview with him as a [downloadable mp3 | http://www.abc.net.au/sundaynights/stories/Brian_McLa_m1197195.Mp3]. Hopefully we'll get to do something similar.

Was anyone we know at the conference this week? It ends today so maybe we can get some feedback. Brian is also speaking this weekend at both services at [Mosaiek | http://www.mosaiek.com/].

He's also written an article entitled ["Found in Translation - Are there new ways to talk about Jesus' good news?" | http://www.sojo.net/index.cfm?action=magazine.article&issue=soj0603&article=060310] at [Sojourners | http://www.sojo.net/].

Mom was there

My mum was at the conference. She sms'd me when she got home to say she couldn't hold another thought in her head! I'll ask her to "download" some of her thoughts and see about getting it posted here.

Brian in South Africa

Hi there everyone! Today is the first "official" day back at the office after spending the last three days with Brian Mclaren listening, thinking and imagining how we can BE church in our world today.

For those who havent read all of McLaren's books I think it was a good primer on the post modern/emerging conversation. In a respectful manner he explained how modernity has influenced the church and the effect thereof in how the church functions.

I have written some thoughts on the event on my blogspace and maybe you guys can check it out? www.roadtalk.blogspot.com (Maybe this is a cheap shot at getting SOME ONE, ANY ONE, to check it out! LOL!
